My Jewelry
My inspiration for Jewelry creation comes to me on a few different levels.
First: I am always drawn to the natural beauty of semi precious stones: Primarily, Lapis Lazuli, The many varieties of Jasper, Chrysocolla and Turquoise. There are others, but those are my headliners!
Amethyst, Garnet and Topaz are my gemstone favorites to work with.
These semi-precious and precious gemstones seem to radiate their own kind of charming energy. I may start with a stone and then think about which type of metal will go best……
Second: I have always LOVED the look of ancient jewelry and also jewelry worn by royalty over the ages. I have spent many years at museums here in the US and abroad admiring so many collections.
With this as my background of inspiration, I have named my various collections:
Ancient Artifacts
My first collection. Here I primarily use Bronze with Garnets and sometimes White or Blue Topaz. I do tend to mix up eras such as Etruscan, Edwardian, Victorian, Art Nouveau, etc….
Lost Empire
Here my inspiration or vision stems from those opulent jewels worn by Royal Aristocracy over the generations. From the French to the Italians to the Austrians and English to the Romanovs. And really everywhere in the Western World. Some of the most magnificent jewels were created for them.
Rockin’ Rocks
The Name says it all. It’s all about the STONE: Semi precious or Gemstone.
Dripping in Gemstones
Not only do these creations feature gorgeous gemstones as a focal, but also I search high and low for amazing mixed shaped gemstone beads to accompany these beauties. The entire work then is: Dripping in Gemstones! Probably one of my favorite collections to immerse myself in!!
Nature
Flowers of all kinds, Sun themed necklaces and earrings, Lions, Birds, Trees—anything to do with Nature!
Whimsey
I have a huge whimsical side to me! This collection boasts sweet and fun creations such as a balloons necklace, Bronze Ritz Cracker Necklace and earring set, Planets in Orbit crystal necklace, candy wrapper necklace and many other such whimsical subjects!
Brutalist
As the name implies, this collection, my latest and my current focus, features abstract shapes of all sorts put into necklaces, rings and earrings.
Men's Collection
Not necessarily for the guys.
